Students at a Corona Del Mar High in California come together with servicemen and servicewomen to tell the Veterans' stories in mini, documentary-like 10- to 15-minute films. Veteran participants fought in World War II, Iraq, Afghanistan and many of the conflicts in between.
96 films have been created so far. (See one such film here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4KsXgXIX5WM)
Started in 1999, the project has been an enriching experience for students to hear from a generation of Veterans who may not be around much longer or to connect with recently transitioned Veterans.
Telling of their stories has also helped many Veterans who were suffering depression or other mental health challenges like PTSD.
